Moving Forward with County Zoning: What’s Next?
The Canosia Town Board plans to officially repeal the Zoning Ordinance, Land Use Map and at least parts of the Township Comprehensive Plan, effective February 1, 2019. If all goes as planned, St. Louis County will begin administering our zoning early next year.
A County Land Use Manager will be attending the monthly town board meeting on Wednesday (December 7) to help answer questions about the upcoming process and procedures. For additional background information, please read the past meeting minutes, public hearing minutes and fall newsletter or contact the township with any questions.
One of the next major steps is coming up in mid-December: The County Planning Commission will review a draft future land use map for Canosia for possible inclusion in the draft St. Louis County Comprehensive Plan. This hearing will take place on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at 9 a.m. at the St. Louis County Public Works Building in Virginia (7823 Highway 135). If approved by the planning commission, our information would then be forwarded to the county board for consideration in mid-January.
We will keep you updated as we move forward, but please contact the township with any questions or comments. The full agenda for the town board’s upcoming monthly meeting can be read by clicking here.
