SUMMARY OF PIKE LAKE WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM (PLAWCS) INFLOW AND INFILTRATION (I&I) COMPLIANCE ORDINANCE 2019-1
This Summary concerns the proposed ordinance of the Canosia Township and Grand Lake Township’s Pike Lake Wastewater Collection System’s Joint Power’s Board, designated as Ordinance No. 2019-1, which will create compliance guidelines for inflow and infiltration. Ordinance 2019-1 is scheduled for review at a public hearing set for May 28, 2019 at 5:30pm at Canosia Town Hall, St. Louis County, Minnesota. Ordinance 2019-1 is scheduled for adoption by the Grand Lake Town Board on June 11, 2019, and for adoption by the Canosia Town Board on May 30, 2019.
SUMMARY: Ordinance 2019-1 creates guidelines to support the PLAWCS Joint Powers Board as it provides oversight of the PLAWCS system’s wastewater collection and transmission, including all pipes, force mains, gravity sewer lines, lift stations, pumping stations, and appurtenances owned and operated by PLAWCS which collects wastewater from residences and business and conveys it to the portion of the Wastewater Collection and Transmission System operated by WLSSD. Ordinance 2019-1 addresses ownership, maintenance and repair, compliance, inspections and testing, reporting guidelines, and fees/ penalties related to the PLAWCS sewer system.
