The Town of Canosia’s Town Hall at 4896 Midway Road, Duluth Minnesota 55811 is available to rent to Town of Canosia residents and businesses with a majority of their officers or members being Town of Canosia residents.

  • The town hall is available to rent daily from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the exception of town board meetings, elections, and other town business activities.
  • The space available to rent is the main town hall, which accommodates up to 50 individuals and two bathrooms.
  • The town hall is wheelchair accessible with off street parking.
  • Internet and a television with HMDI are available. Additional deposit may be required for use of the television.
  • Kitchen and office facilities are NOT available at this time. The recreation area is available for use, but on a first come, first serve basis. It is not reservable.
  • Alcohol, gambling, and smoking are not permitted on the property. Weapons are also not permitted on the property. No open flames, sparklers, fireworks, etc are permitted on township property.
  • No pets are allowed within the building unless they are service animals.
  • Any applied decorations outside or inside the building must be applied with painters tape. Furniture cannot block exits.
  • The town hall must be cleaned, trash collected, decorations removed, and furniture returned to their proper places at the end of the event. Trash bags and basic cleaning supplies will be available. Filled bags can be neatly tied and left by the townhall door for removal.
  • The Renter assumes full responsibility for the conduct of all attendees of their event during the rented time frame. They also assume full responsibility for any loss, breakage, or damage caused to the town hall, its contents, or its grounds. The Town of Canosia is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or illness suffered during the use of the town hall by the Renter or their guests. The Town is also not responsible for any items that are left in the town hall.
  • Events must be lawful. Violation of any laws, statues, or ordinances for Federal, State, County, or Town by the renters will result in termination of the rental agreement and forfeiture of any deposit paid.
  • The Renter may not charge admission for the event unless prior approval from the town board.
  • Contracts with submitted with proof of liability insurance and reservation/damage fees in order for the reservation to be scheduled. The rental contract cannot be sublet nor transferred.

Damage Deposit is $150.00 (refundable if there is no damage to the town hall nor cleaning services required. If cleaning services are required beyond the cost of the damage deposit, the resident will be charged $50/hr for any required cleaning service hours. If there is damage that exceeds the amount of the damage deposit, the resident will be responsible for all damage costs.)

Non-Refundable Application Fee is $25.00

Reservation Fee is $25.00 for 4 hours (Refundable if cancelled with 30 days notice)

$50.00 for one day(Refundable if cancelled with 30 days notice)

Cancellation Policy: The Town of Canosia may cancel any approved rental request for any of the following reasons:

  • If the Renter fails to comply with the above stated rental rules.
  • If for any reason the Town of Canosia provides notice of cancellation at least 30 days before the event.
  • If for any reason out of the Town’s control, such as in cases of emergency, unsafe environmental or health conditions, or the interruption of utility services.
