The fall colors are near peak at Canosia’s new one-mile loop trail on Industrial Road. In the summer, the trail can be used by hikers and bikers; in the winter, bring your snowshoes, fat tire bike or cross country skis!

The new trailhead is located at 5594 Industrial Road (about ½ mile east of the Midway Road). The trail and trailhead were roughed in late fall of 2019 into the spring of 2020,  with help from volunteers, Waste Wood Recyclers and funding from  Proctor School District recreation referendum funds. This project is a still a work in progress (and will continue to get better over time!), but already it is a great community recreation option.

The trail uses Canosia Township land and tax forfeit land and was developed in cooperation with the St. Louis County Land and Minerals Department and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Up the road just a bit from the loop trail, you can also access the Canosia Wildlife Management Area and even more existing trails.
